CVU-UVC elects Dr. Martin Noël as 5th President and Board Chair

Martin Noël, Ph.D., Directeur général for TÉLUQ université, has been appointed President and Chair of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Virtual University-Université virtuelle canadienne consortium (CVU-UVC), a collaboration of Canadian universities specializing in online and distance education.

Dr. Noël has served on the CVU-UVC advisory committee and board since 2010. He is the fifth president of the organization, replacing Gordon Tarzwell, Vice-Provost, Open Learning at Thompson Rivers University.

“I am privileged to have the opportunity to be President and Chair of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Virtual University-Université virtuelle canadienne consortium” said Dr. Noël. “As distance education becomes an integrated way of teaching for most universities, it brings new challenges for which CVU-UVC can be the catalyst.”

Former director of TÉLUQ School of administrative sciences, Dr. Noël is a professor in operations management since 2001. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics from the University of Western Ontario as well as a MBA and PhD in Administration (operations research) from Laval University.
