If you are a motivated, independent learner, you can take one or more university courses before finishing high school.

Then transfer the credits to a degree program at universities across Canada.

Requirements:

  • permission of school principal
  • at least 16 years of age
  • excellent academic background

The Pan Canadian Protocol on Transfer Credit states that the first two years of courses at Canadian universities are transferrable as long as these courses are related to the program you intend to take.

The courses in our recommended list have been accepted for transfer credit at universities across Canada by students who have taken these courses previously.

However, we cannot guarantee that these courses will be accepted in every university program in Canada in the future.

You may wish to contact the university you plan to attend when you graduate to confirm which distance courses will be accepted.

Please speak with your high school counsellor to find out if University Head Start is for you.
